Blaenau Ffestiniog (or just Blaenau, as it’s known locally) needs a proper town centre, a heart and a meeting place for it’s people, a place which lifts the spirits and gives the visitor a sense of having arrived somewhere special. I also feel that this should be a town centre which honours the endeavours and achievements of those who built and laboured here, and the culture of ordinary working people generally.
Working on a voluntary basis I therefore produced two designs, and in 2006 offered these to the local regeneration group “Blaenau Ymlaen” (“Blaenau Onwards”).
