Falcon Hildred produces watercolour drawings, which record the buildings, structures and landscapes of 19th century industry, under the theme title Worktown. His works range from quick site sketches to detailed studies, and include everything from a tin shed to a whole town. As an industrial designer turned industrial archaeologist he has a clear grasp of technology; and as an artist is also able to convey the illusive yet important qualities of mood and light. He has recorded subjects throughout England and Wales, culminating in a detailed study of the historic slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, in North Wales, where he lives in an old mill and has a gallery of his work on display He has published two books.
A sample of his work is shown below - but please investigate this website to learn more about Falcon and his unique drawings and mill home.
